LVCC Hosts Rosanne Omersa Concert and Potluck Supper

The LVCC in Tower will be hosting button box player, Rosanne Omersa, on September 10. This free event is apotluck supper along with the concert beginning at 5:30pm and going on until 7:00 pm. Please bring a dish to share. Freewill donations are gratefully accepted.

Rosanne Omersa, who lives in Gilbert, plays polkas and waltzes on a 3 row Zupan which is a Slovenian style diatonic button accordion. From a young age, she enjoyed dancing and listening to polkas and waltzes. Her father-in-law’s button box ended up at her house after his funeral. In the fall of 2019, she opened the case and tried it on. After seeing that it fit, she ordered instruction books and startedto learn to play on her own. During the pandemic, she was able to make great progress learning many more new songs by taking online lessons from Kathy Hlad in Cleveland. During holidays, Rosanne posted videos for people to enjoy, surprising many with birthday polkagrams. Requests started coming in for her to play for various celebrations.

 Rosanne loves keeping this happy music alive, meeting new people, and making people happy. Her button box gives her many opportunities to do this. Her talented playing brings joy to people’s lives by helping them celebrate events where they can forget their troubles,aches and pains. Soon her audience is tapping theirfingers and toes. She enjoys making people smile!
