LVCC Administrator

About the Role
Join the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, as an Administrator in Tower/Soudan, MN, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission to inspire, educate and engage the community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful programs while enhancing your administrative skills. Pay is $20-25 per hour and based on experience. Expectation is 20 hours per week, which may vary depending on need at busy times of the year. Currently no benefits are offered. Scheduling of hours is flexible, with time spent in the office as needed to complete tasks.
Office/operational
- handle correspondence, phone inquiries and email
- maintain supplies and order as needed
- maintain equipment including printer, computer, scanner
- maintain filing system
Financial support
- build and track basic budgets
- process invoices and pay bills
- assist with grants (working with our current grant writer)
- assist with expense reports or financial record keeping
- assist accountant with tax records/payments
Board/team coordination
- attend, assist, and report at board meetings
- attend committee meetings as needed
- manage tasks of custodial help/building and grounds workers, etc
Donor and volunteer support
- maintain Excel spreadsheets
- track donations via mail and online
- draft and send thank you letters
Event and program support
- help organize special events
- document attendees and finances of events and programs
Communications and publicity
- support publicity and marketing, including newsletters
- update social media channels
There may be other duties as requested by the LVCC Board.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other office management software. Knowledge of Quickbooks and graphic design a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to the area community, diversity and cultural sensitivity.
- Positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
About Us
The Lake Vermilion Cultural Center has provided diverse educational, informational and entertaining programs for the region for the past several years. Our historical building is the base for most programs, being the former St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Tower. It was moved to the current site approximately ten years ago. The LVCC is managed by a board of dedicated volunteers. The LVCC office is currently located inside the Vermilion Park Inn in Soudan, MN.
