The Peter Max Tapestry and Art on the Lake

Dec 11, 2023 | LVCC News | 0 comments

When Madison Moorhead attended the Art On the Lake Art Show and the memorial honoring her great aunt, Carol Brown, she fell in love with the Peter Max tapestry displayed there. It was originally designed and donated to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital years ago by the artist.

She and her husband, Jed McCabe, own a store in Colorado and felt the whimsical piece was a perfect addition to their business. Madison reports, “We are currently visioning for and planning the opening of a second storefront in Denver.”

Their donation of $2,222 was added to the LVCC Carol Brown Memorial.

Art on the Lake 2023

The third biennial Art On the Lake art show was held July 29 and was preceded by a gala opening event July 28. Local and summer resident artists participated by selling their art and donating a portion of the proceeds to the LVCC. This year’s event also honored the memory of Carol Brown, a long time Lake Vermilion resident and artist, by raising funds for the LVCC in her memory. A total of $5,347 was raised for this special memorial. The LVCC wishes to thank the Art On the Lake committee and artists for their donations and for planning the memorial for Carol Brown.
